Moreschi shoes are traditionally comfortable: we recommend choosing one size smaller than your usual size

Caen Peccary is a men's single monk shoe in brushed calfskin with a peccary upper, available in deep black and dark brown, crafted with Blake construction and a leather sole. Part of the Moreschi Heritage collection, it brings to the single buckle shoe one of the rarest and most sought-after materials in shoemaking: peccary leather, a natural hide of uncommon softness and a texture immediately recognisable to those who know precious materials.

Moreschi is among the very few producers in the world to work high-quality peccary — a skill that requires years of experience and specific tools, and cannot be improvised. The peccary upper delivers an enveloping and flexible fit from the very first wear: the leather adapts to the foot with a continuity that traditional calfskin does not reach at the same speed. Brushed calfskin on the toe and structural parts of the upper adds visual solidity and material contrast, balancing the porous and irregular texture of peccary. Blake construction ensures constructive precision and durability. The leather sole maintains the formal profile appropriate to the model.

Caen Peccary pairs with tailored suits, business looks and contemporary formal attire. For those pairing peccary shoes and looking for coherence in accessories, the Moreschi range includes the Lione Peccary belt.

Caen is the Norman city of reconstruction — a place where the quality of making prevailed over time. The right name for a shoe that is worth exactly what is inside it.

Care

Combining elegance and softness, brushed calf and peccary leather require distinct care.

Clean brushed calf with a slightly damp soft cloth and finish with a small amount of neutral wax, gently polishing the surface. For peccary leather, use a soft-bristled brush and, if needed, apply a specific neutral balm for delicate leathers—always avoiding excess product.

Store the shoes in a dry place, away from direct light and heat sources. Wooden shoe trees are recommended to maintain structure and shape.

Blake construction

The Blake construction is used for shoes with leather or rubber soles and ensures a secure bond between the upper, midsole, and outsole. After an initial phase of gluing and pressing, the sole is further reinforced with a single stitch made using a specialized Blake machine, which fastens the bottom of the shoe directly to the upper.

The result is a solid yet flexible shoe, ideal for refined everyday wear.
