MINNESOTA DEER

Minnesota Deer is a men's slip-on sneaker in deerskin with a pronounced, irregular grain, available in black deer with a black rubber sole and in dark blue deer with a white rubber sole, part of Moreschi's casual selection. Box construction gives it a low, clean profile, more contained than a trainer-cut sneaker: wear it all day without it drawing more attention than it needs to.

The upper is made from deerskin, valued for its natural softness and its ability to gradually mould to the foot: the more you wear it, the more it takes the shape of your foot. The closure is a set of tonal crossed elastics that echo the upper's colour, a recurring Moreschi slip-on solution that removes the need for traditional laces and lets you put the shoe on and take it off in a single motion.

The Moreschi "scarpini" logo, hot-stamped on the tonal smooth-calfskin heel tab, follows the same styling code as the brand's other sneakers. Inside, the tan calfskin lining wraps the foot, and the removable leather-covered insole gives support you notice most on the longest days. The box-constructed rubber sole keeps a low profile, with a small-check tread pattern that grips well without weighing the silhouette down.

Minnesota Deer pairs with jeans and chinos for everyday wear, but holds up just as well with softer trousers and unstructured pieces, for the days when you need a shoe that asks nothing of you. Minnesota takes its name from a Dakota word meaning "sky-tinted water": the state counts nearly twelve thousand lakes, enough to have earned it the nickname Land of Ten Thousand Lakes. A clear, reflective origin, not far from this sneaker's understated character.
